UNMATCHED INDUSTRY EXPERTISE

Factory automation involves a very wide range of skill and expertise ranging from physical mechanics to organizational structures that result in the production of goods. Most automation companies provide only basic services such as programming or specific design technologies. A significant attribute that sets Saber apart from all the rest is our ability to engineer and build custom machinery and systems. With 25 years in the automation business, Saber Engineering is recognized as an extremely experienced and innovative integration firm with demonstrated skills in applying the right solution – even for the most difficult and complex applications.

Coupling controls and mechanics is a primary service we provide. Saber offers our customers a complete turn-key solution. Often the product or process must be physically manipulated for presentation to the automation and our knowledge of material handling coupled with our controls know-how ensures your project success.

Here are just some of our capabilities:

Industrial Robotics | we are certified partners with KUKA™ and Fanuc™. Both Best-in-Class robotic companies.

Motion Control| vast experience in servo, stepper and drives. Ranging from rotary, linear, and hybrids. One of our specialties is micro-motion using voice coil technology. We use systems by Rockwell, Omron, Yaskawa, Mitsubishi, etc.

Machine Vision | partnering with some of the biggest names in Machine Vision, Cognex and Keyence, Saber has built a name as a leader in vision systems.

Laser Welding and Etching | we have a wide range of experience with solid-state lasers in medical device and solar industries. We use systems by Keyence, SPI & IPG.

Structural and Finish Design | we design and build structural framework using mild and stainless-steel weldments as well as aluminum extrusions. We facilitate systems from clean rooms to wash-down.

One of our important specialties is laser welding, typically extremely small geometries.  Much of this technology revolves around the world of medical device, an industry that requires precision and perfection.  Combining our expertise in machine vision and motion control we can design and integrate complex systems that are specific to your process.

Saber Engineering knows control systems – systems used for industrial plants and factory automation. Saber’s expertise and experience span numerous industries and process methods including discrete manufacturing, batch process, and continuous process controls. Saber Engineering provides engineering and programming services for major PLC / PAC vendors such as: Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley), Schneider Electric (Modicon), and General Electric (GE). Additionally, Saber provides SCADA / HMI and Historian development for key industrial control software suites – these include: Wonderware Archestra, GE Proficy, Factory Talk, and Citect. We have wide range of deployments using National Instruments hardware coupled with LabView.  Our project experience spans from large multifaceted SCADA and PLC networks through legacy system upgrades and small system modifications.

Collaborative robotics, palletizing, pick & place, laser welding & marking, assembly, machine tending, painting, deburring & grinding, have all been successfully implemented using a variety of common industrial robots.  Robotic applications are ever-growing in our skill set. With their increasing advancements in capability and lower prices, robots are becoming more and more viable for a wide range of applications and industries.  Our two primary partners are KUKA and Fanuc Robotics.  We also have vast experience with Denso and Staubli.

A significant quality that sets Saber apart from other automation companies is our ability to engineer and build custom machines and systems. Mechanical engineering is a primary service we provide. Saber can offer our customers a wide range of hardware, from small component fixturing to complete turn-key solutions. Often the product or process must be physically manipulated for presentation to the automation and our knowledge of material handling coupled with our controls know-how ensures your project success. We design and build structural framework using mild and stainless-steel weldments as well as aluminum extrusions. The electronic and controls can meet CE and UL standards.

Saber has built a name as the absolute leader in vision systems in America. Last year alone we deployed over 200 fully custom vision systems across 60 cities in the United States. We have a core team of vision engineers dedicated to nothing but MACHINE VISION, engineering and specifying lighting, optics, and writing custom vision algorithms.  Our strength is not only engineering the functions for programming and optics, we also provide the necessary hardware and mechanics to deliver a turn-key solution.  We are system partners with two of the largest and most dynamic vision equipment suppliers in the world – Cognex & Keyence.  We have also built systems completely from the ground up.  Spanning all industries and all types of applications, from micro to macro, we’ve delivered!

Saber’s has extensive expertise in the water and power industries utilizing SCADA, PLC’s and Telemetry (Fiber, Radio, Network) for system management and control.  The types of water / wastewater systems Saber have implemented include: sumps, wells, reservoirs, water filtration, water treatment and water analysis.  The types of power generation systems that Saber has integrated include: wind turbine, gas turbine (peaker plant), steam turbine (cogeneration), hydro-electric, battery / fuel cell and solar.  Saber maintains proficiency in these industries by continually developing and integrating control systems with long standing utility customers and by maintaining our vendor partnerships that are commonly utilized in these industries.
