CASE STUDY
Automated Pin Etching System for Precision Electronics Manufacturing
Electronics Manufacturing
Client Challenge:
An electronics manufacturer needed to automate their pin etching process to enhance quality control, consistency, and production capacity. The manual process was labor-intensive, error-prone, and could not keep up with demand. The manufacturer required a fully automated solution to handle pin feeding, positioning, etching, rinsing, drying, and inspection.
Our Solution:
We delivered a turnkey automated pin etching system. The system featured PLC control, an HMI for operator interface, a vibratory pin feeder, precise pin positioning, a stepper X/Y/Z gantry system, various wells for etching, rinsing, and drying, a vision inspection system, and a custom anode/cathode power supply. The system was enclosed in a stainless steel cabinet for safety and environmental control.
Automated Pin Etching System Features:
01.
PLC Control
Allen Bradley CompactLogix for system automation and control.
02.
HMI
Allen Bradley Panelview Plus 7 for operator interface and recipe management.
03.
Motion Control
Dynamic Motions steel body ballscrew slides with stepper motors for precise pin movement.
04.
Vision Inspection
Keyence vision system for 100% inspection of processed pins.
05.
Power Supply
Custom anode/cathode power supply for etching.
The Results:
